"May Angels Lead You In..."
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of attending a very special concert. It was a benefit concert up in Washington, OK for a little baby Jake who has some heart problems. When my friend invited me, I thought it was going to be a few teenage kids in a band playing or something like that...maybe something more legit I guess...but when we arrived, I was so surprised! We walked into this little cafe where the people welcomed us with warm hugs and everyone was so nice. You could really tell it was a family there. As I was scouting the room for the band, I noticed where they had it all set up and a little girl with a mic warming up. She was the cutest thing! She was introduced and sang a Christian song, I believe...
After her, another girl slightly older than her...about 12, went up and played a song on the guitar. The pastor said he helped co-write it and that she titled the song, "Awesome" with a lot of exclamation points. haha. THEN, after her, was one more girl who sang a Taylor Swift cover. That girl could sing! I was so impressed with how well she stayed on key! Then after her (sorry, I have to refer to all of them as "her" and "him"...I don't remember their names haha) was a little boy with the sweetest mullet ever. He played us the Star Spangled Banner on the guitar. It was awesome.
After he finished, it was the older kids' turn. A girl about 16 (I'm guessing) sang one of my favorite songs by Jimmy Eat World ("Hear You Me") while playing the guitar. It was so neat! Then a guy got up there and sang then had the whole youth band come up there with him and they all sang some songs. THEN, two college kids came up and did a couple duets. The guy sang another one of my all time favorite songs by Edwin McCain..."I'll Be" of course! Not sure what else he's famous for haha...then the girl sang "Just Like A Star" by Corrine Bailey. I love that song!
So, there's that little recap. It was such a blessing to experience that! Oh, and I just have one little favor for whoever reads this and that is to pray for baby Jake and the family! Please and thank you :)
