Jeremiah 29:11...

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Sometimes we don't understand God's reasoning until later on. Perhaps we're too caught up in blaming Him in that moment or we aren't fully sitting back and looking at how it could've been a blessing in disguise. Whatever the case may be, we should always know that it's all for the best and that He is watching over us. Cliche I know, but this verse has always helped me get through the toughest times.

We've all had them (tough times) and when we do, we tend to ask the "why God?" questions and constantly worry for what's going to come next. But as I've grown both physically and spiritually, I've realized that I have been asking the wrong questions. I shouldn't be questioning God...who is all-knowing after all. I should be looking at the situations and learn from them. I also shouldn't worry about everything as well as tomorrow because it will take care of itself (Matthew 6:34). Even in my many times of weakness and misunderstanding, I need to trust that He is in control.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
—Proverbs 3:5-6

Lord I need you. Sometimes I rely too much on myself rather than You. Help me remember that You have a purpose for everything and that everything will occur in Your timing, not mine. Help me to remember that You are always in control.

Going old school with this next song suggestion. It's "Walk By Faith" by Jeremy Camp, a song that's always helped me through tough times because the lyrics are so strong. Probably because at the tender age of 24, Camp had to overcome the death of his wife, a victim of ovarian cancer.
